Twelve Weeks of Revolt Now Fitness

I am so excited to have made it through 12 weeks of the Revolt Fitness Program! I did it!

...and I really loved it! Now, I had my ups and downs, but overall, it really made me think about what I eat and the importance of clean eating. It also was amazing how much change I saw from literally doing 20-30 minutes of intense exercise 5 days a week.

I love the facebook group and support of others doing the same program. Having virtual friends makes it easier. Though I must say that the best part was having a real-life friend doing it with me - I wouldn't have stuck to it without Christy!

Over the last 12 weeks, I've had fun, gained some awesome muscles, become stronger, run a 10 K and I feel healthy and look great! I had a really hard time with the detox week diet and the tabatas exercises. But overall, I was very happy with the program.

The numbers?
Week 1: 145 lb., 23.0% body fat
Week 12: 136 lb., 18.5% body fat
I've lost 9 lbs. and 4.5% body fat in the last 12 weeks!

One Little Exercise Video - Such Great Results!

I am totally amazed with the results I've been getting by working out 20-30 minutes 5x a week. I never in a million years thought that I would see such astounding results from short bursts of effort.

I got an e-mail to try the Revolt Fitness Program. I wasn't sure, thought I'd give it a half-hearted try. I am so glad I did.

Literally a half hour a day working out, plus staying on a healthy diet. In addition to being functionally awesome - the videos also have a great trainer :) - Nichole makes working out seem fun. And it really truly works!

It's like I have my own personal trainer. I'm getting good at squats, planks, even push-ups. I actually like push-ups....but only so many! I've even moved up to the most difficult level! Next step - doing the video more than once a day :)

I received a free membership in exchange for reviewing the program. All opinions are my own.

Healthy Butterfinger Shake!

I am in week 10 now of the Revolt Now Fitness program. After a down month in June - I still blame Tababtas - I am feeling totally re-energized this month! There was one big bright spot in the June plan, however, the Butterfinger Shake.

It is beyond yummy. I think I am going to drink it every day of my life. It's also exceptionally easy to make.

Ingredients
1 frozen Banana
1 cup unsweetened almond-coconut milk
1 tbsp. natural peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 scoop chocolate peanut butter (or chocolate) protein powder
1 tbsp. fat free/sugar free butterscotch jello pudding
dash of salt
stevia to taste

But them in a blender and blend away!

So go, try this shake, seriously.

Meanwhile, I am taking it up a level this week. Doing the hardest level of exercises, even doing two work-outs a day a couple of times. I am aiming for three solid runs (two down...), and going to try to find some reasonable priced dumb-bells so I can move up to 12 lbs.

I'm pushing myself this week, are you?

Drink Your Water!

I am in week 9(!) now of the Revolt Now Fitness program. I am still amazed at the results and have been (fairly) dedicated to the program. I find that the hardest part for me? Not the food, nor the exercise, but drinking enough water!
My life is full of water bottles!
The program calls for a gallon of water a day. Yep, that's a lot of water. I religiously tried at first. I could hardly make it through hour long meetings! I have been really good about drinking a half gallon a day. But not so much on the gallon.

I have tried lemon in the water, different types of bottles, some sugar free drink mixes. It's just a lot of liquid. I know water is great for you, but the gallon just seems insurmountable! I've honestly also been struggling with the workouts this month. They are longer than the last months and I just can't fit it in - I think this has been making me less motivated. So I've modified this weeks to see if I can get it to be 30 minutes.

So I know you are just dying to know my progress at this point, right? :) Well, I've decided to wait until 12 weeks to weigh/measure again! sorry :) I know it's not as great as the last time. I know some of it is motivation, and poor water drinking. I will improve greatly over the next three weeks - I must! Any advice on water would be awesome...

Seeing a Change

Six weeks on the Revolt plan. Woohoo!

We went on a family vacation this past weekend and when we got home I was looking through the photos and thought - wow, I have some muscles :)

This plan has been a big change in diet, exercise and attitude. I've definitely felt the difference in how my energy level and ability to do the exercises, but it was nice to see a difference too.

I'm not really in it to lose weight, but rather to gain strength and muscle. I'm in it to be healthier and set a good example for my family.  I am excited to be on this path.

Just for fun - the numbers:
Week 1: 145 lb., 23.08% body fat
Week 6: 137 lb., 19.16% body fat
I've lost 8 lbs. and 4% body fat in the last 6 weeks!

If you are interested - sign-up here :) You'll get some awesome muscles, as well as a newfound love of spinach and brussel sprouts (no really, I swear)!

Coconut Curry Slow Cooker Chicken

Disclaimer: I was given free access to this program in return for blog posts. All opinions are my own.

Last week I wrote about how much I loved the Coconut Curry Slow Cooker Chicken as part of the Revolt Fitness plan. I promised to give you the recipe, so here it is! It is simple, healthy and yummy!

real food, slow cooker chicken,

Ingredients:
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 tablespoon curry powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 cup thinly sliced white onion
1/2 cup thinly slice red bell pepper
1/2 cup organic chicken broth
1 14 oz. can lite cocnut milk
capers

Put in slow cooker on high for 3 hours.
Serve over 1/2 cup basmati rice, garnish with capers.
Serve!

I'm amazed that every week there are great recipes to keep things interesting! This week I'm eating BBQ chicken with sweet potato fries and lava cakes ~ while still losing weight and building muscle.

Success at Fitness Goals!

I consider this week a great success at meeting my fitness goals ~ I ran a 5k and had a mostly great week for my second week of Revolt!

This past weekend, the whole family ran a 5k - Miles for Melanoma - at Universal Studios. Out team raised $320 and we all finished in 43 minutes. That even included A running for about a mile. No, really! He was quite a hit on the course :)

Not only did the little guy love running, but he had fun at the "after party!" I love that the whole family is getting fit together...it just makes me so happy. He's also been doing the workouts with me at home. He is quite cute when he tries to life weights with me - and makes my exercises all the more difficult when he crawls underneath me while I am trying to do a plank!

This was also the second week of the Revolt Fitness plan. I am doing great at the workouts - they are awesome. Quick, tough and fun. I can do them at my lunch break or when I get home from work.

The diet - hmmm, having a harder time with. This week was sugar detox week. I made it two days without cheating - eggs, eggs, eggs, bananas, spinach, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes....then on day three I ate french fries. They were so good. I am having a hard time with the monotony of the diet, but the results are awesome! I have so much energy, I feel stronger. I love the feeling! If only I can get through the rest of week two :) Wish me luck!
