Months ago A was having trouble switching over to solids, the pediatrician suggested hotdogs. Bingo. A was in love.
He has had veggie dogs, chicken dogs, turkey dogs...
...and recently he had his first beef dog...and I accidentally had a bite too. I say accidentally, since I don't eat red meat (other than bacon sometimes...), so I have no idea when the last time I ate cow was.
What I realized...the beef hotdog was SO SO much better than any of the other hotdogs I've (I mean A) tried recently. It was a Chicago-dog, served at a wedding lunch, so I'm sure it was high quality, but seriously - so.much.better. Was it the hotdog or just beef in general? Have I been missing out for the last almost-20 years?
Wow, 19 years. That just hit me. I may have had little bits of beef in things that I couldn't avoid, but 99% - no beef since I was 16.
Anyway, I think that was A's first beef as well. He wanted to eat two hotdogs. Beef must agree with him...I'll have to see about adding some more to his diet!
Beef hotdogs are WAY better. :)

DeleteI have to admit that reading your blog posts are a guilty pleasure and whenever you post the link on Facebook I am sure to read them. They allow me to think back about the times when D was younger, back before I had to think about how he will do on the PSAT. Thank you for sharing! I have to say the beef ones are so much better especially the all beef Kosher ones! I don't know how to sign this but this is Julie.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you like to read the blog :) I can't even imagine A taking the PSAT at this point - but I imagine it goes by so quickly! I like seeing your updates on facebook...glad you seem happy!
DeleteI must agree - If you're going to eat a hot dog, beef is a must!
