Favorite App for Kids

I don't want to have my child addicted to technology - but it may be inevitable.

At 2.5, he is pretty savvy with the ipad and now my iphone. During certain situations - long flights and long waits at restaurants - they are life savers.

Luckily, at the moment, his idea of a good app, and my idea of a good app coincide.

Our current favorite? "Endless Alphabet." Not only is he learning lots of great words - he is learning letters and their sounds. He can play it for at least 30 minutes - longer if I let him!

You move the letters over to where they match in the word - while you are moving them, they make the phonetic sound. When you place the letter in the right place, it tells you the name of the letter. A has recently discovered that you can move two letters at a time - and he is in heaven!

When you get the whole word, it gives you an adorable video with a definition. There are new words every week! Currently, "Recycle" is A's favorite word. What an excellent choice :)

What apps are you loving for the little ones right now?

  1. Stack my States is a current favorite that we both like.

At the moment, little man is pretty into Star Wars Angry Birds, which is ok from to time. We try not to let him have the phone or the iPad too much.
