Songs I sing

I realize my lullaby repertoire is a little sparse...

To get my little guy to sleep, I sing a combination of the following:

"My Favorite Things" - The Sound of Music
"Doe, a deer" - The Sound of Music
"You are my Sunshine"
"Hush Little Baby"
"Silent Night" (yes, even though it's not Christmas)
"Sweet Baby James" - James Taylor

I'm starting to get bored of my songs, I am sure that A would appreciate something new in the rotation.

Any suggestions?

  1. Isn't it amazing what simple things we can do to make them happy? Then they get older and it takes more technical and expensive things! Enjoy at this age because once it is over you will wish it back. I am a new follower of your blog thru GFC and RSS Reader. I would love a follow back on both of those when you get the chance. Thanks so much and have a great day!

  2. I also sing ABC, Twinkle, Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep. You can slow them down enough that they are lullaby-ish. Also, they all have the same tune.

  3. Frère Jacques
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (there are like 4 verses, who knew?!)
    All My Loving, The Beatles
I highly recommend this CD, Stardreamer: Nightsongs & Lullabies by Priscilla Herdman. Its lovely and helps the boys quiet down at night.
