Though I live in southern California, I still love it when fall rolls around. The leaves don't change colors, the air doesn't turn cool, but there is still a lot to look forward to.
5. Halloween - Now that I have a little guy, halloween is so much fun! Watching him discover the joys of free candy, staying up late and people dressed up in weird costumes!

4. Colder Nights - It's the perfect time of year, when I don't have to use heat or air conditioning. I love sleeping when there is a bit of cold in the air - snugging under the covers, starting a fire in the fireplace, wearing a knit cap (ok, maybe I'm going too far for SoCal!)
3. Spiced Drinks - Apple cider, pumpkin lattes, egg nog. Warm drinks, fall tastes. Yum! Not to mention, thanksgiving food, family, fun!
2. Fall Festivals - pumpkins! I love going pumpkin picking with the little guy. It gets better every year. I can't wait to help him carve a pumpkin this year - a new first :)
1. Vacation - For the last few years, we've taken out big vacation in the fall. It has been amazing. I will miss being able to do it once the little guy starts school. Hawaii, Canadian Rockies, National Parks of Utah...fall is an awesome time of year in this family!

ReplyDeleteI just love the huge rush of holidays. Since I'm in Florida, we pretty much never get cooler weather this time of year, but we do our best with what we have. I'm a Halloween lunatic, so decorating and setting up for that is pretty much my favorite.
I live in So. Cal too and fall/winter is my favorite time of year - I can't stand the summer heat, so the (relative)coolness of this time of year is wonderful.
