Book Summary:
In a terrifying world where an epidemic has killed off most of the world's adults, fifteen-year-old Abby struggles to keep her brother and sister safe. When a new, deadly disease spreads among the survivors, Abby must make the  dangerous journey to Colony East, an enclave of hidden scientists caring for a small group of children for reasons unknown.

Abby fears that time is running short for the victims, but she's soon to learn that time is running out for everyone outside Colony East.

You may know, that I love young adult dystopian fiction, so this book is right up my alley! I am always a little leery of sequels (especially the second of a trilogy), but this was an excellent read! It may even have been better than the first.

Mr. Cramer starts the story where Night of the Purple Moon (Book 1 in the trilogy) leaves off, there is no gap, which is refreshing and brings you right back into the story. The story is very easy to read, it's definitely a page turner. Unlike some dystopian novels I have read, I really connect with the main character - he does a great job of bringing character depth and connection, even in a world we cannot truly know.

I love the relationships in the story, the way the characters deal with each other, their situation and the strange world they find themselves in. I really think you will enjoy this book. I can only imagine the third will be even better. As with book one, the ending was a cliff-hanger, which is to be expected in a trilogy. I would say though, that the end does leave you hope - my favorite type of cliff hanger :)
