Since becoming a mom - cleaning the house has become an insurmountable task. I put something away, the little guy takes 5 more things out. I feel like I'm in a re-run...or the movie Groundhog's day!
So what I've discovered?
1) If you can at all in any way shape or form afford it - hire someone to clean your house!!!

2) Kick everyone out of the house, turn on your dancing music and clean with a vengeance. It is much easier for me to clean alone. I am happy for my boys to go play while I zoom around the house...dancing all the while.
3) Baking soda. I find that Baking soda is an amazing cleaner. It is awesome for the oven, removing odors from lunch containers, polishing silverware! Awesome cleaner...

4) Clean two rooms at a time. Ok, that sounds silly. But as I am picking up the living room and moving things to A's room, I clean his room for a bit, until I need to move something from his room to another. Saves you steps and time!
5) Have a tall glass of your favorite drink :)
Any cleaning tips for busy moms?
Yup...cleaning with kids is like shoveling while it is still snowing!!!
ReplyDeleteI try not to get too stressed about it. I like my house to be fairly clean...but I don't worry about it being perfect. For me...I don't like doing it all at once. I try to do a few things a day. By doing that it doesn't ever seem to get too overwhelming :). I also try to come up with some fun ways to get my kids to help. Have them earn stickers or prizes by keeping their things picked up. Basically, I know keeping a clean (ish) house is important and good but so is my sanity :). Have a great day!!!
