Anyway...the year is racing by and I thought I'd take a few minutes to slow down and reflect on the highlights of last month, before I delve head first into July!
- I can run a 10k! I can run one in under an hour and without stopping. I feel great about that. Highlight of my month :)
- My husband is awesome at home repair! He's just amazing at getting things done. I am so impressed with his new skill sets and his stamina...because as you know, home repair always takes longer than you think...and leads to even more projects...
- I love Butterscotch Shakes from Revolt - recipe coming soon!
- I hate Tabatas. This exercise is a form of torture. I also realize that when I don't enjoy exercise I am more prone to slacking. So June was a bit of a slack month...
- I can see muscles in my arms! I really enjoy arm workouts, and hate ab workouts. It's very motivating to keep exercising when you can actually see a change.
- Though I love camping, I always seem to find alternative accommodations when I go to National Parks!
- Channel Islands National Park is an incredibly unique place...you should see the gulls breeding there...incredible! I went this month and haven't shared my photos yet, but will soon.
- Living with a two-year old is never dull - and there are tons of fun activities to enjoy during the summer, free ones even.
- Running Bloggers are an inspiring group if people. Just reading running blogs makes me want to run more!
- Most importantly - I managed to beat my Candy Crush addiction - I simply passed it on to someone else (evil laugh!)
Happy July!
My most sincere congratulations on beating the Candy Crush addiction! I have to walk away every so often when I get stuck, but I always come back. Always.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on running a full 10K! That's fantastic!
I hope July is just as great as June!
LOL - thanks! It is nice to not be addicted now :)
DeleteI love this! How wonderful to acknowledge the "little things in life" that bring so much joy to your life. You have much to celebrate! Thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's nice to look back and think id all the good things in life!
DeleteSounds like you've been super busy, but so glad you took a moment to stop and reflect. Glad you love camping...so do I. Haven't done it too much recently, because I have found other alternatives as well. "Oh well, I can't help it if the campgrounds are all full, I guess we'll have to stay in a hotel.", I tell my husband. He doesn't mind so much because he won't have to do all the setup and cooking!
ReplyDeleteGood for you and overcoming the addition to Candy Crush. I haven't even touched it...not going there. It took me years to break away from Farmville, etc. I can't afford another distraction like it again!
Yep, don't even start! I finally weaned myself from farmville too!
DeleteHappy 4th of July! You're brave taking your little one camping. My daughter is 1.5, and we have yet to try camping with her! Congratulations on running your 10K!
ReplyDeleteHe loved camping! Though he ended up in my sleeping bag :) I think he was about 1.5 when we went for the first time!
DeleteAlso, I love the font you use for your title! Do you mind sharing what it is?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I used a pre-made design from Utterly Chaotic Designs (http://www.utterlychaotic.com) , It's a google font called Sacramento....
Delete1. Congratulations! Not me! 2. Congratulations! Not mine! 4. I had to Google it. Sounds horrible. But if it works? 7. I used to live in Ventura and could SEE the Channel Islands (when it was clear) but never actually went out there to visit them. 10. I've passed the addiction on to several people - mwahahaha!
ReplyDeleteYour life sounds like it's very full - even without the Candy Crush!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys really stay active. I can't say I prefer arm workouts over ab workouts as I've done neither in 20 years. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been to a national park yet, but I want to goooooo!
You are blessed to have a husband that is handy around the house. My dad was extremely handy and could fix ANYTHING, as opposed to my husband who calls me if something breaks or needs repair. I knew he wasn't handy before I married him though, but I do miss having a live-in handyman.
