I'm really bad at following through on fitness goals. I'm really good at coming up with plausible excuses not to run...too cold, too hot, no time, don't want to go alone...
So I decided to have a two-pronged approach to accountability to start this year.
1) My husband. If we do it together, I'll actually do it right? Couch to 5k day one: Complete!
2) I am participating in New Year, No Excuses challenge. It's an 8 week weight loss challenge. I figure if I exercise and eat healthy, I will also lose weight! Or at least, lose fat and gain some muscle. I am about 10-12 pounds above where I'd ideally like to be, so I have some room to lose! Head on over to "Chaos and Love" to follow the adventure :)
And lastly...I'm hoping all of you will keep me accountable too. I need to run 3x a week, exercise an additional 2x a week and really eat healthier. Any tips, recipes, encouragement will be greatly appreciated :)
One day at a time!!! My granddad used to tell us that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time! All we have to do is our best to accomplish our goals today and we'll be one step closer!!! Great reminder!
ReplyDeleteLOL - not going to eat an elephant, but good advice :)
DeleteWow! Way to go! Just admitting it is the first step. I think you can do it no problem. Before we moved we had bought a inexpensive treadmill. That was the single best thing we ever invested in. Because whether I walked or my Husband ran, we always had an outlet to workout on.
ReplyDeleteHonestly tho - I want to get a therapeutic trampoline. My mom got one and OMG! Five minutes felt like I ran 5 miles in the sand. I'm hooked! Easy ways to accidentally exercise - thats what its all about. :-D
That sounds awesome. I need to look into one of those right away!
DeleteYou can do it!!!!

Thanks!
DeleteYou can do it. I am also working on getting healthier this year, my goal is to set a better example for my kids.
ReplyDeleteBeing a good example is such a motivator!
DeleteI love this! You are simply ADORABLE! Hope that the first weekend of 2013 was good to you. :) Just popping over from Sugar and Dots to say hello. Come say hi sometime! XO!!
ReplyDeleteYou CAN do it! I've always quit, made excuses, procrastinated, etc. but not this year! I am determined! I have a great group of mamas that help keep me motivated called the Mamavation Sistahood, you should check them out. They'll give you a swift kick in the rear if you need it. :) Thanks for linking up on my blog!
