Ok, so A isn't really reading...but he is definitely interested in letters, repeating pages of books and even what sounds letters make. He loves books, we've been reading with him since he was born. Recently, however, I have noticed a new phase to his interest.
He has figured out that the words he hears are connected to what is on the pages - and is trying to figure it out! It is awesome to see learning in action. I have to admit that on top of daily reading, songs, dvds, school and apps are making those gears in his head turn :)
One of the apps that he loves is Reading Eggs - each lesson is about 20 minutes and focused on one letter in particular. There is enough repetition to make me crazy, but absolutely perfect for a nearly 3 year old! I have seen a marked improvement in letter identification and sounds. He loves the Ant - and the silly antics he participates in. At this age I still need to be there to help him when he gets stuck, but he can navigate it almost all by himself!
